Novena to the Sacred Heart Starts today!!!

This is the daily Novena to the Sacred heart of Jesus. It begins today, June 2nd, and concludes on June 10, the Vigil of the Feast of the Sacred Heart! A beautiful novena for your special prayer request.

Padre Pio recited this novena every day for all those who requested his prayers.

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

I. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you." Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of...... (here name your request)

Our Father....Hail Mary....Glory Be to the Father....Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

II. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for the grace of.......(here name your request) Our Father...Hail Mary....Glory Be To the Father....Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away." Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of.....(here name your request) Our Father....Hail Mary....Glory Be to the Father...Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.

Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Corpus Christi Procession Omaha, Nebraska

You are invited to walk with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in the St. Peter Church 5th Annual Corpus Christi Procession, Sunday, June 6, 2010 (the Feast of Corpus Christi) at 2:30 p.m..

What a great oppurtunity to put your faith into action by walking with Our Lord through the streets, as a witness to His true presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

For more information please see
St Peter's website here.

The Corpus Christi Procession: a Catholic Tradition

Processing through the community with the Blessed Sacrament on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ is a venerable Church tradition. The procession is an outward demonstration of Catholic faith and belief in the real presence of the risen Christ, under the appearance of the Consecrated Host.

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi was introduced in the late 13th century to honor Our Lord's institution of the Holy Eucharist. It is believed Corpus Christi processions date back to the 14th century. They are still held on the Feast of Corpus Christi throughout the world, often with the regal splendor and rich traditions of years past.

The procession is made up of clergy, Catholic groups and organizations, and lay people and their families. Children in First Communion dress traditionally strew flower petals in front of the transported Eucharist. The Holy Eucharist is held in a processional monstrance carried by a priest or bishop. The monstrance itself is protected by a decorated canopy.

In his Apostolic Letter Mane nobiscum Domine, Pope John Paul II urged all Catholics to participate in Corpus Christi processions as a public profession of their faith in the real presence of Christ in the Holy Sacrament.

I hope to see all who are able to show their support for St. Peter's, the community, and most especially our blessed Lord.

Novena, Day 4

I am doing my novena this evening and 2 passages from St. Josemaria struck me.

"The important thing is that we should love the Mass and make it the centre of our day. If we attend Mass well, surely we are likely to think about our Lord during the rest of the day, wanting to be always in his presence, ready to work as he worked and love as he loved." 2

2 Christ is Passing By, 154

May God help me to work well, with the greatest possible perfection. May I never work carelessly, but be convinced that work done badly cannot be sanctified, because it lacks love, and love alone enables any human action to be pleasing to God.

Germany and EU to Legalize Pedophilia and with it, Child Pornography as well!

Germany and EU to Legalize Pedophilia and with it, Child Pornography as well!

Booklets from a subsidiary of the German government’s Ministry for Family Affairs encourage parents to sexually massage their children as young as 1 to 3 years of age. Two 40-page booklets entitled “Love, Body and Playing Doctor” by the German Federal Health Education Center (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung – BZgA) are aimed at parents – the first addressing children from 1-3 and the other children from 4-6 years of age.

“Fathers do not devote enough attention to the clitoris and vagina of their daughters. Their caresses too seldom pertain to these regions, while this is the only way the girls can develop a sense of pride in their sex,” reads the booklet regarding 1-3 year olds. The authors rationalize, “The child touches all parts of their father’s body, sometimes arousing him. The father should do the same.”

The pamphlet advises parents to permit young children “unlimited masturbation” except where physical injury becomes apparent. It advises: “Children should learn that there is no such thing as shameful parts of the body. The body is a home, which you should be proud of.” For ages 4-6, the booklet recommends teaching children the movements of copulation.

WOW! How sad, I wonder what and how strong the German Bishops will stand up to this desecration of human innocence.

Douay Rheims Bible
The Gospel According to St. Matthew
Chapter 18
1 At that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying: Who thinkest thou is the greater in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus calling unto him a little child, set him in the midst of them,
3 And said: Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.
6 But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe to the world because of scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh.
8 And if thy hand, or thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee to go into life maimed or lame, than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire.
9 And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee having one eye to enter into life, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
10 See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

"Fathers Make Known To Children Your Faithfulness..."

Great Pastoral letter from then Most Reverend John J. Myers, Bishop of Peoria, now the Most Reverend John J. Myers, J.C.D., D.D. the Fifth Archbishop of Newark.

I came across this letter several years ago, and it seems now more appropriate than ever. It is increasingly difficult to be a good, holy, Catholic man, husband, and father in today's culture. The words of this letter should be meditated on and read again and again by fathers and understood as a call to greatness. Wives and mothers too, should read this as an understanding of how Men should behave. All too often wives of good men, attempting to do the Lord's will, are held back by the good - albeit misguided- intentions of their spouse. Men need to understand their role and have the courage to live it out with discernment and prayer and open communication with their spouse.

"My intention is to maintain a focus on certain aspects of the complex of problems which constitute our current crisis. In fact, only if women welcome men in the roles of husband and father, cooperate with them and expect great things of them, can men hope to undertake such awesome responsibilities. In a real sense, the same is true for women in their roles as wife and mother."

This was written over a decade ago, but is more relevant today than ever. Take some time, grab a cup of coffee, and sit down for some spiritual direction.

Happy Fatherhood!!!

Congress Gets Ready to Quadruple Tax on Oil

Taken from FoxNews.com

OK, so I am all for cleaing up the oil spill, its mess it left behing, cleaning the enviroment as we DO need to be good stewards. However, I think this is ridiculous. Normally, I don't comment on secular things like this, but this caught my attention. So now (or should I say again) the private citizen will be paying for a private company's cleanup.

President Barack Obama and congressional leaders have said they expect BP to foot the bill for the cleanup. OK, so why this article then...why even bring it up?

"Taxpayers will not pick up the tab," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday. Oh, I bet we will in the end....no pun intended.

BP executives told Congress last week they would pay "all legitimate claims" for damages. But the government needs upfront money to respond to spills, as well as money to pay for cleanups when the responsible party is unable to pay, or is unknown. Money spent from the fund can later be recovered from the company responsible for the spill.

What, why, who, when? Did I miss something? I break something and then get to tell the government THEY need to clean it up.....WHAT!!

Enough about my rants, here is the whole story should you need something to read.
